In Focus at The Atlantic has a great selection of pictures up entitled “A World Without People.” Below is the obligatory shot of Pripyat, but most of them are much more original and spring from recent events such as the civil war in Libya, the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and the financial crisis. Interesting the mixture of natural and human factors that cause people to disappear. The selection of pictures from Detroit is amazing: kind of wish we were going there on our upcoming cross-country trip, but it’s not to be.
