Brilliantly, in a show called the Fast Show, that clip contains a 14-second pause. I saw an interview with Paul Whitehouse once where they talked about the inspiration for characters in the Fast Show. A lot of them – including Rowley Birkin – were based on random people Paul Whitehouse had met in the pub.
