We’ve just got back from a week’s holiday in which we saw the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park. Both of them are among the most spectacular natural landscapes I’ve ever seen. I mean, what compares? The Rift Valley, the Norwegian fjords maybe… Anyway, whatever. On returning, a colleague shared this with me: the story of the extreme rock climbers who are exploring the most difficult routes up the enormous and smooth rock faces of Yosemite. You need to click through to see the pictures; trust me they are ridiculous. Kind of inspiring and stomach-churning as well, especially when you suddenly transition from the extreme clinging on-ness of the rock climbing to the manic release of the same guys BASE jumping off the top.
