Clicking through from this piece (via The Awl) on how the British press covered the beginning of the air campaign in Libya (short version: distastefully) I found the following glorious segment from The Day Today:

It does a nice job capturing the apparent relish with which media outlets burst into action when war breaks out. The Day Today first aired in the early nineties and I missed it at the time, but plenty of the good bits are on Youtube.
