After supercuts, another great collection from metagames. These are “playable games about videogames.” The collection is exhaustive: a couple of thoughts about some of the ones I’ve actually had a go at:

Pick up the phone booth and die: Uh, the title is literal. You have to think of another command to type in.

You Have to Burn the Rope: funny comment on essential futility/meaninglessness of playing games, brilliantly rounded out with a congratulatory song when you complete the challenge. Also has a trailer.

One Chance: you have to save the world, and you have one chance, literally. It’s clever, and sad.

Related, but not included in the list: Every Day the Same Dream, which is more a vaguely philosophical game-take on a humdrum existence, but it has cool music.
