By way of an introduction to this week’s DVD releases, the New York Times gives an introduction to the work of Elia Kazan, a general discussion of the evolution of acting in American cinema and a brief but pointed description of Martin Scorcese’s role in US culture today. I’d call that a pretty generous column.
